2:40 P.M. - COLUMBIA GORGE, OREGON - Jul. 16, 2013 - Chuck Stephens and his daughter Evelyn, 3, of Portland, Ore., are pulled through the water in Oneonta Gorge by their husky dog named Monroe.
On July 15, 1983, over 90 photographers spent 24 hours capturing daily life throughout the state of Oregon. Project Dayshoot was the name of the venture, and it produced a book called One Average Day.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Project Dayshoot, the original photographers--as well as new contributors--will capture still and motion images across Oregon on July 15, 2013.

Columbia River Bar pilot Capt. Robert Johnson releases the safety line and heads up the rope ladder to board the car carrier Modern Peak to take it out across the Columbia River bar to the ocean. He will get off on a larger launch or be plucked off the ship by helicopter once the ship is in the ocean. This is a short climb onto the ship, but for some of the car carriers, pilots have a long, long climb to reach the deck with no accomodations near the river level. The pilot launch Connor Foss delivers Johnson for the transfer off Astoria. Deckhand Fred Snaza stands behind Johnson in case help is needed. -- 2059, 7/15/2013. Bill Wagner. Oregon Dayshoot +30
