Back to School

As summer comes to a close, students across Oregon are heading back to school. Today we're sharing a few images of Oregon schools, some historical and some still in use.

The Waldron School, established in 1874, greets northbound drivers at MP 10 on Hwy 207 between Mitchell & Service Creek. While the school hasn't been used for years, the locals still keep it maintained & welcoming.  Photo by Diane Kulpinski

Portland Opportunities Industrial Center (POIC), Rosemary Anderson High School, is a non-profit educational and workforce training organization that works with disenfranchised youth in Northeast and East Multnomah county. While gaining skills to apply for high school credits, students also get Phys Ed credit for participating in sports. Deon Sims and Dequan Wilatson are very into basketball.  Photo by Jan Landis

They are beautiful most places, but we like to think that Oregon has some of the best sunrises and sunsets. Today's featured photographers made use of the light to create beautiful silhouettes.
